I was planning to do these posts for Fansided, but since their site is down, I’m just gonna go ahead and do them here. Shelby Miller allowed a leadoff single to Eric Young Jr. to begin yesterday’s game against the Rockies and then would go on to retire twenty-seven in a row in a complete game one-hit shutout. He also struck out thirteen batters, all on fastballs. This post is features thirteen of those fastballs.

And, cherry on top to finish the game at 95.
Miller also went to his hat a lot last night and I’m not sure how often he does it (over the course of the season, that is), and don’t want to suggest anything malicious, and if there was something illegal going on, I’m sure the other team would say something, or his next opponent would let the umpiring crew know about it.
So yea, there’s something there, but I don’t know what. Maybe he’s talked about it before, so I’m not going to do the whole Jack Morris–Clay Buchholz thing because I’d rather not be the one to go there.
