Mark Teahan Signs Minor League Deal with #SFGiants, Hasn’t Played at MLB Level Since 2011

You probably know the name of Mark Teahen, and now he joins your San Francisco Giants organization:

As the high school journalist noted, there will be no Spring Training invite to the Major League camp for Teahen, who hasn’t played at the MLB level since he played for two teams in 2011. He was in the Nationals minor league system in 2012, posting a .314 wOBA and 92 wRC+, and then posting poorer numbers for the Diamondbacks and Rangers MiLB AAA programs in 2013. Teahen turned 32 in December, and no one would blame you if you thought he’d never see AT&T Park as a San Francisco Giant in 2014. One might imagine that every infielder on the 25-man, Nick Noonan, Joe Panik, Adam Duvall, and maybe Chris Dominguez are ahead of Teahen on the 3B depth chart. If you want to just check out his MLB stats because you didn’t click the earlier link, I’ll put them here below, courtesy of Baseball Reference.
