The auditions will begin on Wednesday for everybody in Major League camp on Wednesday for the Giants as they get ready to play their first non-intrasquad game. Today is, as ESPN’s Jayson Stark noted, the last Sunday until November where there will be no baseball played. Since the news is slower these days, the starter for Wednesday’s game against the A’s will be Yusmeiro Petit:
Petit starting spring opener since Giants have off day the next day, don’t want to mess with rotation.

The rotation will begin to get going on Friday, since there’s that Thursday day off, as mentioned. As for starting rotation predictions, I’ll go:
Or maybe that’s just what I want. Anyway, a day earlier than Wednesday some pitching prospects will get the stage, and we understand it’s free to the public. Anything that is “San Francisco Giants” and “free” is something we’d love to jump on, unfortunately, most of us will be working Tuesday at noon:
Crick, Law, Bochy, Blach, J Casilla, Blackburn to pitch in intrasquad game Tuesday. Open to public. Usually around noon. #sfgiants

That’s Kyle Crick, Brett Bochy, Ty Blach, Jose Casilla, and Clayton Blackburn, for those wondering. Crick, Blach, and perhaps Blackburn aren’t expected in the MLB until 2015, but Blackburn may be the closest of the three, per reports I’ve been reading this off-season. Bochy sat in AAA-Fresno last season, and the younger brother of Santiago Casilla, Jose, spent 2013 in High-A San Jose. Derek Law is the guy that’s rumored to have 25-man roster potential even right now despite his only pitching below AA during the regular season.
If any of you are in Scottsdale and want to record the game and put it up on YouTube, the public would appreciate that very much.
